INDEPENDENCE DAY
Theme: Independence Day. Free yourself from bad food choices on a hot summer holiday
It’s that time of year where we are off to the family or friend’s house for a day and evening of fun and most likely stuff ourselves with burgers, hotdogs and yummy mayonnaise based salads maybe enjoy some swimming and ending the day with a fireworks display. Let’s not even name the cold delicious desserts that come out after the grilling is done. It’s Independence day after all right? Who is supposed to be watching their weight on a special day like this?! As crazy as it may sound, you really can overcome a challenge like this AND enjoy the holiday. How do you do that?
First you need to realize that healthy eating and weight management can be achieved by eating a wide variety of foods. Eat what you really desire, but just practice moderation. When choosing foods that are higher in calories and fat, be aware of what makes a serving and use good portion control.
